The day we went to the hospital

Thursday: Lunch at a Chinese restaurant, then Max and Nim played Blackjack in the Casino.

Thursday evening in the hospital: All the birthing suites are full, the doctors busy, we have to wait..... but you can do a lot of stuff with rubbergloves to entertain youself....

Friday evening: we finally got a birthing suite! Not a bad view either.

Saturday (9th of April) morning 5:09 am: Justin is having his first cuddle on Mommy's chest. Both twins were born with the help of forceps (Geburtszangen) and you could see the marks on their heads for about 3 days, but as they were positioned perfectly everything went quite smoothly.

Little Jason's first cry at 5:37! They were born after 37 1/2 weeks of pregnancy (40 weeks are "full term", but for twins no more then 38 weeks are advised) and are pretty big for twins!

Both twins have a lot of hair already, as I was told is quite usual with Asian babies.

Justin already came home Tuesday afternoon. Debbie is feeling very responsible in her role as Nanny and comes running in looking worried every time little Justin makes a noise.

Jason had to stay in an Incubator (Brutkasten) for 4 days (on the right), but is out now. They are still watching his blood sugar levels - but

by tomorrow (Friday) he should be able to come home!

Proudly announcing: Saturday morning at 05:06 and 05:35 Nim's twin boys Justin (3,17 kg) and Jason (2,55 kg) were born!! Nim and Justin can leave the hospital tomorrow, but Jason has to stay a bit longer, because they want to observate his changing blood sugar levels. But all - Mommy and the two little cuties - are well and healthy! We've been spending most of our days at the hospital.... today I spent at home doing all the piling housework and now I'm on my way back to the hospital to spent Nim's last night there with her and help her..... hopefully tomorrow I'll find time to upload pictures!!!

Little Jennifer

This morning at 1:30 little Jennifer Patchara was born! No, not Nim! Her (and our) friend Pinkie was pregnant too, and only two weeks early today with giving birth to her fourth child and first daughter. It took only 45 minutes after a long day of playing poker with friends (!), and Jennifer is the calmest newborn you've ever seen (and already got so much hair!) - Nim is really envious. Let's hope it'll be this easy for her too!

Thai birth - party in the hospital room only ours later. Nim (pink dress) is getting really tired of being pregnant and all the pain, two days ago we drove her to the hospital because she was having strong contractions every 10 minutes, but they told us not to come back before they come every 5 minutes... Justin and Jason have been head down for already 4 weeks and are kicking their Mom hardly - it won't be long anymore! And then the world has too get ready for the "Triple J" power!! ;-)

Soundwave Festival!! Super Bands, gute Organisation (komisch aber, dass man keine Plastikflaschen mit reinnehmen darf, dann aber Alu-Bierflaschen bekommt... dafuer sind diese klasse eiskalt. Bei der runterbrennenden Sonne (nicht ein Woelkchen..) toll!

Um Bier kaufen zu duerfen, muss man erst mal sein Alter verifizieren... LOL

Bei Slayer und Rob Zombie rockt zumindest die eingefleischte Fangemeinde noch...

... aber bei Iron Maiden, die wie immer fantastisch waren und eine Wahnsinns-Show hingelegt haben, war wohl die Kraft weg, und kaum einer bewegte mehr als den grossen Zeh... fuehlte mich wie auf einem Klassikkonzert - wo ist mein Stuhl? What's wrong with you people!?! Hoechst seltsam. Tausende Leute in Fanshirts, und die Band hoert 4 Minuten vor Ende ohne Zugabe (Sperrstunde um 22 Uhr... die Australier) auf - vor einem einschlafendem Publikum.... Einen angesprochen, er in seiner Ehre verletzt: "Well, it was a long day." A LONG DAY??? Es war ein EINTAEGIGES Festival. Von 10 bis 22 Uhr. Und als Rausschmeisser auch noch "Always look on the bright side of life". Ts. Naja, war trotzdem ein toller Tag!!

Endless Summer

Rumours, rumours, rumours... Some people don't follow our blog too regularly and asked "which twins??!", hellloooooo ;-))

Nim is due 16th of April! But as we're talking about twins, they'll probably be earlier than that. But we are here and help her with everything, as Max is in New Zealand right now and can't do much because of his respiratory problem anyway.

Summer time in South Australia is -- spider time again. A new species of the huntsmen family. These are harmless..... but we spend 2 hours vacuuming the shed of 14 (!!) venomous Redback Spiders and several eggs and nests. SCARY!!

Yesterday and today we had 43 degrees Celsius. And Holger helped putting up a friend's shed (well, 'shed', in Germany you'd call that a HALL) in that heat - so this beer is actually EARNED!! ;-)
It's amazing when you come inside and think "Wow, can someone turn off the aircondition, it's FREEZING in here!" and then you look at the thermometer and see just how "freezing" it really is: 29 degrees. But tomorrow it'll be a pleasant 35 degrees. :-)

For Christmas we treated ourselves to lobster and everything with it in this exclusive seafood restaurant (that we thought looks something between Burger Kind and IKEA children's paradise) - for more than 100 Euros.

But normally THIS was our favourite dish this time: roasted duck with rice, vegetables and chicken broth - for 40 Baht - ONE Euro.

We LOVE the street kitchens.

We LOVE free Wifi.
